2/3-2009

-correcting animatic. talked to Casper Høg 1/3, and got some critique from Alex today.
-Made backgroundlist, putting up the dates together with ander.
-finished model and texture for submarine and tadpole.
-made integration test with frog on forest bg.
-made rendertest with frog. displacement map working, fur working.
-made anisculpt test with frog rig.
-talking with louie, he is now finished with the texturing the bike, and is going to start texture the fish.
-I'm going to have dailies with Ole at 10:00 each morning for the next two week. He already made a water and splash test.
-made a rendertest of the waterski scene, looks great! jihu :)

-modeled on submarine, lowpoly almoust finished (started all over)
-held a meeting at 13 looking at production plan
-meeting with sunit, he helped out with the rendering problems of the frog and the fur setup for the bear.
-made water test in after effects. made some research on maya fluids, we could maybe use that to displace the water to give it more life (using a 2D container as a displacement for a poly plane with texture on)
-started on the scenebook

10/2-2009

-had a little surgery in my foot last week, stayed in bed for two days.
-yesterday I helped alice with setting up the forest. We had to make the textures in ps instead of
mudbox. It worked almoust as fine in ps actually. I tweaked the sprites for the leaves to look more like the other scenes in the forest. We tested out paint effects, and it seemes like it's ok for background fill. We put up some mattes in tthe background of the scene.
-started modeling the frog again, had some issues making it look good in maya. I figured that the mental ray approximation node smoothes out the texture and normal map, so we will use normal mesh smooth instead. It is a bit more heavy on the computer, but it seemes like we have no choice. The rendertime is still pretty low though (14 sec in HD)...
-8/10 i made a bg list and updated the latest animatic with scene numbers, wich is the ones we are going to use as a final. I there will be added more scenes later on we're gonna start using half numbers (010 015 020 etc...) Got to finish up the frog soon, so peter can start skinning. I'm one week behind schedule at the moment... We planned to do an animation test next week (week 8 winterbreak), but that seems a bit unrealistic now, but let's see....

-made frog in mudbox, had to do it over agian, lost a couple of days
-lost a day due to surgery in toe
-helped anders with after effects
-took pictures of water with anders, made animation test in after effects
-helped alice with particles, seemes like it won't look too good. Michelle talked about using a 3d scanner for the trees, but we couldent use after all.
-helped alice with mudbox, showing how to import/export model paint and so on.
-made some small changes to animatic "Eye or tongue?!"
-the group made a plan togh with henrik malmgreen. i'm a bit behind scedule atm.

Finished modeling the bear, made a blendshape test with the frog and bear.

We had a meeting setting up deadlines. Things are starting to get busy.

I've spent the weekend and the last week finishing the frog model and trying to get the displacementmaps to work. Had a lot of problems with the displacementmap, but it seems like it's working now. Got some help from both Jacob and Louie.
